Yuka Hirata’s Mele is technically a villain rather than a Ranger, but she is included because the fan-voted poll treats Sentai heroines broadly and she has become an iconic female character. Hirata gave Mele an immediately recognizable combination of elegance and intensity.

Mele’s popularity comes heavily from her devotion to Rio and her eventual emotional development. Her distinctive costume, martial-arts aesthetic and dramatic performance helped make her one of the most memorable women in Gekiranger.
