Perhaps the name is not just symbolic. Reiji might eventually discover that his armor is connected to an infinite network of alternate Gavan systems, allowing him to access abilities or information that no individual Space Sheriff could possess.

That would make “Infinity” less of a cool title and more of a clue to the central mythology of the series.
