Sweet: Beyond just describing candy, calling a situation “sweet” means it’s highly enjoyable, satisfying, or going exactly how you wanted it to. If you find out you don’t have to work on Friday and you get paid early, that’s a sweet deal. If a girl is being really nice to you and giving you compliments, that’s sweet. It’s all about things feeling good and bringing you happiness. It’s a very simple word, but when Jamaicans drag it out and say “sweeeet,” you know whatever just happened made them really happy.
