Do not let the anonymity of the internet dictate your reality; trolls project their own issues onto you. People sitting behind a keyboard with a blank profile have absolutely no power over your real life unless you give it to them. When strangers leave cruel comments about your body, your performance, or your worth, you have to remember that they are projecting their own misery onto you. Happy, fulfilled people do not spend their time anonymously tearing down others on the internet.

It is so easy to internalize that hate, especially when you are putting such an intimate part of yourself out there for public consumption. But you have to actively reject the narrative that those trolls are trying to write for you. Their words are a reflection of their own brokenness, their own insecurities, and their own unhealthy relationships with sex and women. It has absolutely nothing to do with you.

You have to build a mental wall between the online world and your physical reality. When you close the laptop, those people cease to exist. Go outside, get some sun, hang out with people who actually know you and love you. Let the internet stay in its fake little box, and refuse to carry the weight of strangers’ opinions into your actual day-to-day life.
