Yute: This basically means “youth,” but on the street, it translates to “dude,” “bro,” or “guy.” It’s almost exclusively used to refer to young men. If you see a group of guys hanging out on the corner, you’d refer to them as “the yutes.” It can be used affectionately, like “what’s good, my yute,” or it can be used by older people to describe younger guys causing trouble. It’s just the most common, everyday word to point out a young male without sounding too formal or using their actual name.
