The fact that Emorgear-related incidents occur across multiple universes raises the possibility of a coordinated criminal network. Such an organization could be collecting Emorgears, studying their abilities, manipulating emotions, or trying to find a way to exploit dimensional travel.

The most interesting possibility is that the heroes have been investigating individual crimes while unknowingly following clues toward the same larger enemy.
