The action in this specific episode is just ridiculously bad but you cannot look away. Ninjabot plays the double agent role, but his betrayal is so obvious you can see it coming from a mile away. When the teens finally reject his deal, the fight scenes turn into this glorious mess of people flipping around on videotape and waving plastic weapons that shoot terrible special effects beams. It is just amazing how much the main characters seem to genuinely dislike each other too, which makes the regular high school drama segments feel way more chaotic than your usual cheesy superhero kids show.
At the end of the day, Turncoat really proves that this series is the ultimate holy grail of nineties cheese. It does not even try to hide how cheap it is, and that is exactly why it is so fun to talk about. If you love ironic marathons of old forgotten live action shows that make absolutely no sense, this episode delivers exactly what you want.
