Mina Fukui’s Ran Uzaki brought an athletic quality to Gekiranger. Her martial-arts setting meant that she had to convincingly portray a physically capable heroine, while still retaining a bright screen presence.

Her appeal comes from that balance. Ran is strong and competitive, but Fukui also gave her a warm and approachable side.
