Live Robo is the primary mecha of Choujuu Sentai Liveman, which premiered in 1988. It combines the three original Live Machines-Live Cougar, Live Condor, and Live Dolphin-and uses animal imagery to complement the show’s themes of science, nature, and human ambition. Live Robo has a powerful, muscular silhouette and is equipped with the Live Robo Sword. Its attacks emphasize both physical strength and energy projection, making it one of the more imposing robots of the late 1980s. The later arrival of Live Boxer and the formation of Super Live Robo also expanded the season’s mecha system considerably.
