Kamen Rider My-Th Episode 6, “Become an Eagle!”, really delivered the goods. As a guy who’s watched a lot of these shows over the years, I love a good mystery, and this episode drops a massive one right in our laps. The bad guys are clearly gunning for a historic grudge match, but honestly, it’s completely up in the air who they are actually fighting. They seem convinced that the new My-Th, Sora, is their century-old nemesis, but it’s obvious he isn’t. Instead, he’s wielding the powers of some mysterious ancient entity from the past, leaving the villains completely chasing the wrong ghost.
Even though their target is all wrong, you have to hand it to the villains, their loyalty to each other is surprisingly solid. Seeing Jyao step up, only for Vanken to jump into the fray and yell that he’s targeting the wrong person to protect his ally, was a great character moment. These aren’t just faceless, disposable grunts; they genuinely look out for one another when the chips are down. It adds a really nice layer of depth to the conflict, making them feel like a cohesive, ride-or-die unit rather than just monsters of the week.
Then you’ve got the professor, Kamuri, who steals every scene he’s in because he is clearly torn right down the middle between good and evil. He is a fascinating mess. The guy doesn’t seem to fully know what he’s doing, and you can practically see his conscience eating away at him. He’s hoarding and consuming those Seed X-Eggs in secret, but he isn’t just a cackling madman; he’s a tortured soul trying to navigate a grand design that might be bigger than he can handle. Watching a villain deal with a legitimate moral compass is always a treat, and he’s keeping me totally hooked.
Finally, we have to talk about Yuna Mizuki. This episode heavily teased that she possesses a bizarre, latent power to transform or even retroform Kamen Rider My-Th himself. She’s physically crashing and burning from a lack of Seed X-Eggs, which strongly implies she might be carrying the same monstrous Fukashigi traits as the villains. The exact mechanics of how her condition affects My-Th’s forms aren’t clear yet, but it gives Sora an incredibly high-stakes reason to keep fighting. Between her mysterious biology and Sora unlocking that spectacular new aerial Eagle Frame, this series is firing on all cylinders.
