This is probably the marquee fight of the entire tournament. Jason has the advantage in straightforward martial-arts combat, while Tommy has the advantage in versatility because of his multiple Ranger identities. If the fight is restricted to their original Mighty Morphin forms, Jason has a very legitimate chance of winning. If Tommy is allowed to switch between all of his Ranger powers, however, Tommy becomes much harder to predict and is my favorite.

Jason’s Gold Ranger incarnation changes the calculation substantially. The Gold Ranger powers give him a major boost and make this much closer than a simple Red Ranger versus Green Ranger comparison. Jason’s discipline and experience mean Tommy would never have an easy victory. Still, Tommy’s cumulative experience across multiple teams and Ranger powers gives him the narrowest overall edge. Winner: Tommy, 55–45.
