Great Five is the main robot of Hikari Sentai Maskman, the 1987 Super Sentai series. It is assembled from the Maskman’s five individual mecha, with each machine corresponding to one of the team’s members and their specialized combat abilities. Great Five has a heavily armored appearance that matches the show’s emphasis on martial arts, Super Power, and the mysterious Aura Power. Its primary weapon is the Five Sword, while its attacks are frequently portrayed as expressions of the Maskmen’s collective spiritual and physical strength. The robot therefore fits the season’s theme of combining advanced technology with martial-arts mysticism.
