Mirai Sentai Timeranger imagined a future society in the year 3000 and brought characters from that future into the modern era.

The Rangers were connected to time travel, law enforcement, and futuristic technology.

This gave the series opportunities to explore ideas about destiny, history, crime, and the consequences of changing events.

The character Tatsuya Asami was also different from many traditional Red Rangers because he wasn’t simply the unquestioned leader from the beginning.

Timeranger’s futuristic setting allowed it to explore some surprisingly mature themes while still functioning as a colorful superhero series.
