Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan followed Denziman and introduced a three-member team.

The Rangers were themed around animals associated with the sun and military imagery: Eagle, Shark, and Panther.

Unlike Gorenger’s mixed-gender five-member team, Sun Vulcan’s main team was entirely male.

This made the season unusual in Super Sentai history.

The series also continued the developing tradition of using animal motifs to give each hero an identifiable fighting style and visual theme.
