Dairanger provided footage used for parts of the second and third Mighty Morphin seasons.

However, the Japanese characters and storyline were completely different.

The Dairangers were based on Chinese martial-arts imagery and mythical creatures.

Their powers were connected to Qi and martial arts.

This made Dairanger much more closely connected to traditional Asian mythology than the American adaptation suggested.
