One of the most recognizable things about Super Sentai is the use of different colors to identify individual heroes. Gorenger was one of the earliest and most important examples of this concept becoming central to a superhero team.
Akarenger wore red and served as the leader. Aorenger was blue, Kirenger was yellow, Momoranger was pink, and Midoranger was green.
Those colors weren’t just decorative. They made the characters easy to recognize during action scenes, especially when the Rangers were fighting as a group.
The color system also became useful for merchandise, toys, promotional artwork, and storytelling. Children could immediately identify their favorite Ranger.
Over the following decades, the exact colors and their meanings changed constantly, but the basic concept survived. A red hero, blue hero, yellow hero, pink hero, and green hero can still be recognized as part of the same enormous Super Sentai tradition that began with Gorenger.
