Because Dekaranger took place in a future where humans and extraterrestrial beings interacted regularly, the show could introduce many different alien cultures.

Not every alien was evil. Some were ordinary citizens, witnesses, victims, criminals, or allies.

That made the setting feel larger than a simple Earth-versus-monsters story.

The police structure also gave the Rangers reasons to investigate alien crimes rather than merely fight giant monsters.

Dekaranger therefore helped expand Super Sentai’s idea of what a future society could look like.
