Kimberly’s friendship with a deaf girl becomes especially important when a group of young girls falls under the control of the Gnarly Gnome. The monster’s hypnotic accordion gives him a strange and dangerous power, creating a situation that cannot simply be solved through brute force. Kimberly must rely on her friend’s abilities and perspective while the Rangers search for a way to break the spell. The story puts friendship, communication and trust at the center of the adventure while giving Kimberly an opportunity to show that people who might seem different can possess exactly the qualities needed to overcome an unusual enemy.
