The Wolf Has a Hidden Agenda vs. The Devil’s Laboratory

MY-TH’s fourth episode returns to the case of Shiori’s missing father. Sora and Yuna work to uncover a way to defeat a Fukashigi that can recover after apparently being defeated. Sora’s Wolf Frame becomes important in overcoming the creature’s abilities, while Tatsuomi’s involvement brings him closer to Sora’s secret. The episode also uses a flashback to reveal more about the childhood tragedy that shaped Sora and Yuna.

BLACK’s fourth episode, The Devil’s Laboratory, places the focus on Gorgom’s sinister experiments. The laboratory concept fits the original series’ central fear: the villains are not merely sending monsters into the world but are also using science and transformation to serve a larger plan. This reinforces the personal dimension of Kotaro’s fight, since he himself has been affected by the organization’s methods.

Both episodes connect the superhero battle to a deeper mystery. MY-TH emphasizes investigation, tactical problem solving and the emotional bonds between Sora and Yuna. BLACK leans into the horror of a system that creates monsters and threatens human freedom. The newer show gives its hero a chance to overcome a difficult enemy through an evolving combat form, while the older one builds dread around the villains’ experiments and their wider implications.
