Turbo Robo is the main robot of Kousoku Sentai Turboranger, the 1989 series built around automobiles, speed, and fairy-like supernatural forces. It combines the five Turboranger vehicles into a single giant robot and possesses a distinctly automotive appearance. Turbo Robo’s design includes prominent vehicle-inspired armor and is equipped with the Turbo Laser and Turbo Sword. Its speed-oriented fighting style fits the season’s central idea that the Turborangers draw their power from the combination of modern technology and ancient fairy magic. Turbo Robo is one of the franchise’s clearest examples of a vehicle-themed robot.
