DaiDenzin is the primary robot of Denshi Sentai Denziman, released in 1980. It is the transformed form of the Denziman’s giant Daidenjin vehicle and has a powerful, knight-like appearance, with a highly recognizable red, silver, blue, and gold color scheme. DaiDenzin’s principal weapon is the Denziman Sword, and its combat style emphasizes straightforward swordsmanship and powerful finishing attacks. The robot represents an important transition in Sentai mecha design because its machine-like construction and transformation gimmick helped move the franchise toward the more elaborate combining and transforming robots that followed.
