Dragon Ranger became one of the most recognizable additional warriors in Super Sentai history. His green armor and powerful dragon-themed identity helped establish the visual appeal of the sixth Ranger.

The character also had a complicated relationship with the main team. He wasn’t simply another member from the beginning.

That made his eventual alliance with the heroes more meaningful. The additional Ranger could begin as a rival or enemy before becoming an ally.

The concept became enormously influential. Later Super Sentai series repeatedly used a similar structure while changing the character’s personality and background.

Dragon Ranger’s importance therefore extends beyond Zyuranger itself. He helped create a template that would be reinvented again and again.
