Kousoku Sentai Turboranger featured teenage heroes who inherited special powers connected to an ancient conflict. That created an interesting combination of modern youth culture and old mythology.

The Rangers weren’t ancient warriors themselves. They were ordinary young people who suddenly found themselves responsible for a much older battle.

This gave the series a theme of young people inheriting responsibilities from previous generations.

The vehicles and racing imagery also made the team feel distinctly modern for its period. The heroes were surrounded by cars, speed, technology, and youthful energy.

Turboranger therefore blended several different ideas into one season: adolescence, ancient history, magic, vehicles, and superhero action.
