Ninninger occupied an important place in Super Sentai history because it came immediately before the franchise’s 40th-anniversary season.

That meant it was part of a period when the franchise was already looking toward its next major milestone.

Its ninja theme also connected it with several earlier Super Sentai traditions.

The season could therefore feel both modern and nostalgic.

Its position in the franchise’s chronology gave it an interesting role between older traditions and the massive anniversary celebration that followed.
