The Zangyack were an enormous interstellar empire.

They had conquered many planets before coming into conflict with the Gokaigers.

That made the team’s pirate adventures feel genuinely galactic.

The Rangers weren’t defending only one city or planet.

They were opposing an empire with a history of conquest across space.

This large-scale setting helped Gokaiger feel worthy of an anniversary season.
