Ninninger continued Super Sentai’s long fascination with ninja themes. However, it approached the idea through a family of descendants connected to the legendary ninja Igasaki family.

The main characters were young members of this family who were expected to develop their own ninja abilities.

Their training involved traditional ninja techniques alongside modern Super Sentai technology.

The series also emphasized the idea of becoming a legendary ninja rather than simply inheriting a title.

Ninninger therefore added another chapter to the franchise’s long-running ninja tradition, following earlier seasons such as Kakuranger and Hurricaneger.
