Anubis Cruger served as the commander of Special Police Dekaranger.

He was also Deka Master, giving him an unusual dual role.

Unlike many mentors who stay behind while younger Rangers fight, Cruger could personally enter battle.

His transformation therefore carried considerable weight within the story.

Deka Master became one of the most memorable mentor-type Rangers because he combined authority, experience, and combat ability.
