Changeman followed a team of military personnel who received extraordinary powers.

That gave the series a more disciplined atmosphere.

The Rangers were trained soldiers rather than ordinary students.

Their enemy, the Great Star League Gozma, was an enormous interstellar military threat.

Changeman therefore combined military science fiction with Super Sentai’s colorful superhero format.
