Pon di road: This literally means “on the road,” but it’s the go-to excuse for when you are out and about and don’t want to explain exactly where you are. If your parents text you asking where you’ve been all day, you just text back “mi deh pon di road.” It means you’re driving around, running errands, or just chilling outside. It’s super vague on purpose so people don’t ask too many follow-up questions. It’s the perfect cover story for when you’re just taking a long drive to clear your head or doing absolutely nothing important.
